Coyote Autumn by Bill Wallace is a fiction book of 201 pages. It takes place on a farm in Oklahoma.
Brad has always wanted a dog. Since they had been living in the city of Chicago, there was no room for a dog. Now that they live on a farm he starts asking for a dog for his birthday. A few days before his birthday he finds a coyote pup sniffing at his dead brothers and sisters. They had been hunted down by fox hunters that hunt coyote. He knew the coyote pup would not survive without his mother and father. Brad thought this coyote pup could be his dog. Keeping a coyote pup a secret is hard. Can Brad keep his coyote pup, Scooter, a secret? How long will this coyote pup be his?
I learned that not all pets or animals are good for everyone. Also, somtimes it takes awhile to get the perfect pet for you and your family.
There were many parts in this book that stuck out to me but I choose this one I thought this was interesting: ” He glanced off at the sky for a moment. I couldn’t help but notice the faraway look in his eye. ‘ That coyote pup will be the best pet you ever had the worst.’” ( Page 79)
I like this story because Brad is abit like me. They also live in a place that I would like to live. The descriptions in this book are wonderful. I think anyone who likes animals will like this book.
I have read this entire book. Dogs Go Wild Tigers-Girls

I read Maximum Ride (graphic novel). It was actually better than I thought it would be, and I have already read the whole series. This novel is only the first half of the book though. The author (Narae Lee) did a good job of capturing the story, although I did think that Fang looked kind of wierd. For those of you who haven’t read this book, it’s a story about Max and her five other “family members” who were genetically mutated before birth (at the “school) to be 98 percent human and 2 percent bird, so they have wings. What happens most of the book is Max and her gang get chased by “erasers” from the school, while attempting to save the youngest member of their group-Angel. A good read for anyone! It’s on my most favorite book list. ^^

  7. rachel kremer Says:

I read the book a crooked kind of perfect by linda urban. I like this book, it is about a girl that wanted a piano and instead her dad accidently bought her a organ. at first, she thought the organ would be soooo boring but she tried it and practiced hard enough to make it to the perform-o-rama and won fourth place. Her dad made her a crooked kind of prefect birthday cake then finds out her mom will be working so she can’t go but her dad then takes her and she does great. In the end, her mom end up coming to the perform-o-rama and she gets a piano from her dad.

She meets very nice friends, plus a selfish older vampyre fledgling named Aphrodite, who is the head of the Dark Daughters and Sons. I read Xenocide, which is actually the third book in the Ender’s Game series. I definitely recommend Ender’s Game. Anyway, Xenocide is a sciencefiction book, which kind of continues the story that left off in the second book, Speaker for the Dead. The Ender Quartet is a very complecated series of stories, probably more for older kids. This story is about how Ender and his adoptive children are working to stop the Lusitania fleet from destroying their world, while also figuring out how to get humans, piggies, and buggers to live cooperatively on Lusitania together. The descolada, a deadly disease to the buggers and humans, is what keeps everything on Lusitania alive, and if the humans can’t find a way to replace it, everyone will end up dying. While on the world of Path, a young girl named Qing-Jao, meaning Gloriously Bright, her father, and her secret maid discover deep secrets about their people. Qing-Jao is turned against her father and maid, and they attempt to help the people of Lusitania survive and rebel against Congress, the political power over the entire hundred worlds. This book is complex, but it is very good, and brings forth lots of different ideas for you to consider.

Betrayed is the second book in the House of Night series by P.C and Kristin Cast. This book is soo irresistable I finished it in two days! Zoey, the main character, has been at the House of Night for about a month, slowly making the Change into a vampyre, and spending time with her friends. Betrayed is a very dark and secretive story, as Zoey begins to see dark things in her mentor, as well as dead vampyre fledglings that have somehow lived and are now strange, killing creatures. Also, human teens are being killed, and there is evidence pointing towards the House of Night. Heath, Zoey’s human boyfriend, has made the Imprint between himself and Zoey even stronger. This book is a dark, but very good and attention-capturing story. READ IT!

Usually when this is they are to become Spooks, people that protect people from the creatures of the the village like witches, ghosts, ghasts, or boggarts. So Thomas’s father agreed with the original spook to make Thomas his apprentice. So Thomas began to work as a Spook’s apprentice. He was given a diary for and a notebook for important notes he needed int the future. One important note was to be aware of gils with pointy shoes.Later on in the story he goes to do a chore and runs into a gang of boys. They bug him, so a girl

But as he went to visit his farm he was followed there. He faught back with the help oof e girl and won with sucess there many consequences good and bad.But his mother with the spook were proud of hie.

  20. McKenna-Tigers Says:

The book I just read was Chosen, the third House of Night series book. These books are irresistable! Vampyre fledgling, Zoey is dealing with her “undead-dead” best friend, (who has died, and suddenly come back as a vampyre stereotype), juggling three boyfriends, plus she has an evil mentor that is hiding way too much. Zoey has to lie and keep secrets from her friends, driving them away from her. She Imprints even more with her human boyfriend, Heath, and she finds herself beginning to trust Aphrodite, her “enemy” more than she would have expected. Suddenly, a vampyre is found killed, which is even more to add to Zoey’s stress. This story is even more dark than the last one, and Zoey finds out that things aren’t always what they seem.

She has 2 mean 12 year old stepsisters, if they do something bad they blame Lucy. She lives in the basement.of their house without any furniture except a carboard dresser and an air matress. Her stepmom doesn’t want to move any of Lucy’s furniture into the new house or any paintngs that had belonged to Lucy’s mother who was a artist. She is not very popular in school and she doesn’t really have any friends. One day she overheard the popular kids talking about a basketball game and they are arguing over who is going to win. She spoke up and said who she thought was going to win the game because the one team was having a bad season. She turned out to be right. Two of the popular girls become her friends. The basketball teams’ captain, Connor, later asked her to be his girlfriend and they went to the prom together…to find out what else happens, you’ll have to read the book. I’ve just finished my seventh book, The Misadventures of Maude March, by Audrey Couloumbis. It was 290 pages long. It takes place in Iowa and Missouri in the 1860’s, and is the story of Maude and her sister Sallie, who are made orphans when their Aunt Ruthie is shot through the heart. They decide to run away and look for their uncle Arlen in Independence, Missouri. But as they head south, the newspapers make up stories of the “notorious Mad Maude”. She’s even wanted for a bank robbery that she wasn’t purposefully involved in! Sallie and Maude meet Marion Hardley, a dime novel hero that Sallie looks up to, but he gets Maude in the papers as “gone mad”. This is a great story of two girls making a run through the wild west on their way towards trying to find the only family they have left. I REALLY recommend it!

Untamed is the eigth book that I’ve read. It is the fifth book in the House of Night series written by P.C and Kristin Cast. It had 323 pages. In this book Zoey, her friends, plus the red fledglings have just escaped the House of Night, where the fallen angel Kalona has broken free of earth’s prison with the help of the evil high priestess Neferet. Since Kalona is afraid of the earth, Zoey and the others go to hide in the underground depot tunnels that the red fledglings have done a surprising job of cleaning up. The Raven Mockers are sneaking around everywhere, and Zoey believes that Neferet is becoming very dark, and can even cause illusions and spy from the shadows. Plus, Zoey has more boyfriend trouble when she notices something she’s never seen in Erik, Imprints with Heath again, and has to figure out if she can ever get Stark, the boy who died in her arms, to realize he can claim his humanity back. I’m now officially addicted to the House of Night series!

Helloo! I just finished reading my ninth book, Maude March on the Run, which is the sequel to Misadventures of Maude March. It is written by Audrey Couloumbis and has 308 pages. Maude and Sallie have been living with Uncle Arlen in Independence for five months, and have hopes that Maude will become nothing but a small old story in the newspapers. But one day as Maude is serving someone at George Ray’s, he recognizes her and gets arrested. To make things worse, Arlen has gone west to Colorado Territory to help a friend. Since Maude has become known again, she, Sallie, and Marion head west after Uncle Arlen to Liberty in “C.T”(Colorado Territory). As they head even more west, Maude continually runs from the law, and they realize that there are several women pretending to be Maude. The on-the-run sisters run into trouble almost everywhere! But Sallie realizes that heroes can come from anywhere. I loved this book as much as the first one, and recommend it! Go Girls!!!

It is about a boy named Peter from NY who goes to Greenland with his family, and also of fourteen-year-old Thea, a girl living in the ice. She is determined to get her people, who once dug into the ice to escape, up to the “wider world” where they are meant to be. When out in a snowstorm, Peter discovers a twisted red circle in the middle of an ice wall, and notices his mother drawing the same thing in her red notebook. The Pushcart War by Jean Merrill 223 pages long. This book is about pushcart peddelers and truck drivers at war with eachother in New York City. It is a fiction book, but some of the things that happen in the book are beliveable and some are not. I thought it was funny. The pushcart peddlers make pea shooters and peas with a pin in them to shoot at and flatten the truck tires because they wanted to show everyone else that it was the trucks causing all of the traffic problems. I would reccommend this book to other kids.
